Maa Annapurna Brass Idol, Wax Cast Antique Finish
Description
Maa Annapurna is the goddess of nourishment, the divine mother who ensures that no one goes hungry. Anna is food. Purna is complete, abundant, whole. She is worshipped before every meal in many Hindu homes, and her presence in the mandir is an acknowledgment that all sustenance, all abundance, all that nourishes the body and the spirit, flows from her grace.
This idol depicts Maa Annapurna in Padmasana, serene and abundant, left hand holding the ladle of nourishment, right hand holding the patra, the vessel from which she serves. The expression is gentle and maternal, the face of a goddess who gives freely and without condition.
The idol is wax-cast, each piece individually made from a wax model using the ancient lost-wax method. The detail is visible across the petal-ray crown, the layered jewellery, the carefully carved fabric folds of the draped saree, and the ornate circular base with its rope-twist border and beaded detailing. The antique finish deepens every carved recess, bringing the craftsmanship fully to the surface.
At 9.6 cm tall, she is the right presence for a home mandir, a kitchen altar, or any space where the goddess of nourishment is honoured.
