Vishnu Brass Kalash with Namam, Wax Cast
Description
The kalash is among the most auspicious vessels in Hindu worship. Filled with water and crowned with mango leaves and a coconut, it stands for abundance and is placed at the start of Griha Pravesh, Satyanarayan Katha, Navratri and Diwali Lakshmi Puja.
The DivyaMandir Vishnu Kalash carries the sacred Vaishnava namam, the tilak of Lord Vishnu, raised on its body. Around it, flowering vines with blossoms and leaves wrap the full belly, and a scrolling band runs across the shoulder under a beaded edge. The neck is left smooth and polished above, so the carved work reads clearly.
It is made by the wax casting (lost-wax) process, which captures the depth of the floral relief and the namam. A light antique finish settles into the recesses and lets the detailing stand out against the warm brass.
At 14 cm tall, it sits comfortably on a mandir shelf, a puja chowki or an entrance table.
Om Namo Narayanaya.
