Description

The Flame That Invites Prosperity

In Hindu tradition, the Kuber Deepak is lit not just to illuminate but to invoke. Kuber, the lord of wealth and prosperity, is honoured with a deepak placed in the north of the home or mandir, the direction he governs. The act of lighting this diya is simple. The intention behind it is ancient.

The DivyaMandir Pure Brass Kuber Deepak is cast from pure brass with a textured outer body that catches the light when the flame is burning. The oil bowl is wide and deep, holding enough oil for your daily puja without constant refilling. The spout is shaped in the traditional form, holding the batti securely in place so the flame sits steady and upright.

Simple to use. Easy to clean. Built to last years of daily use.

Key Details

  • Material: Pure brass
  • Weight: 55 to 64 gm (approximate; varies slightly as each piece is handcrafted)
  • Design: Textured outer body, wide deep oil bowl, traditional spout
  • Ideal For: Daily puja, Kuber puja, Diwali, Navratri, housewarming, gifting
  • Placement: Traditionally placed in the north direction of the home or mandir

How to Use

Fill the oil bowl with sesame oil, mustard oil, or pure ghee. Place a cotton batti in the spout, leaving the tip extending slightly beyond the rim. Light the tip of the batti and allow the flame to settle. For Kuber puja, place the deepak facing north.

Care Instructions

  • Wipe clean with a dry cloth after each use once the diya has cooled completely
  • For deeper cleaning, use Pitambari powder or a paste of tamarind and salt; rinse with plain water and dry immediately
  • Avoid soaking in water for extended periods
  • Brass will naturally develop a patina with use; this is normal and can be restored with the cleaning method above
